Barbara J. (Baughman) Peters, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the Dresher-Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, Fort Washington.
She was born on March 24, 1942 in Carlisle, the daughter of the late Orville and Mary (Karper) Baughman.
Barbara loved people and parties. Throughout the years she participated in the Century Club at Shippensburg University, Gourmet Club, the Red Hat Society, and even created a Ski Club to encourage her children to learn something new.
Babs, as she later named herself, enjoyed hosting many people in her home and at her pool. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and traveling, but most of all loved spending time with her family and friends. Barbara was a past member of the King Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg, and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Shippensburg for over 50 years.
She is survived by her two children, Tiffany Diehl of Shippensburg, and Frederick L. (Rebecca Trent) Peters II of North Wales; and five grandchildren, Nathan Diehl of Shippensburg, Kalyn Diehl of New York City, and Jane, Leo, and Jack Peters, all of North Wales.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick L. Peters, and one brother, Charlie Baughman.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Bruce Levy officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be privately held in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
