Barbara Ott

Barbara P. Ott, 95, a resident of the Church of God Home, Carlisle formerly of Pine Road, Newville, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 in the Home.

Born October 14, 1916 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Brubaker Pomeroy.

Barb was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, the Ladies Pollyanna Club, Happy Tones Choir, and the Carlisle Care and Share Club.

She retired from Marden Clothing Company in 1978 with over 40 years of service. Barb enjoyed sewing, traveling, square dancing and singing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Ott, eight sisters, and three brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Eileen Minnich and her husband Bruce and Pamela Sheaffer and her husband Jim all of Newville, and Carletta Lehman of Carlisle, two sisters, Isabelle Myers of Newville, and Geraldine Skinner of Sharpsburg, NC, six grandchildren, Timothy Minnich and his wife Cindy, Bryant Minnich and his wife Donna, Holly McManus and her husband Jim, Kevin Lehman and his wife Angie, Matthew Sheaffer and his wife Michelle, and Sara Shoop and her husband Scott, twelve great- grandchildren, Brendon, Joshua, Jeremy, Nicholas, Jimmy, Trevor, Michael, Kevin, Jamison, Jackson, Johnson, and Jacob, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Hays Grove United Methodist Church, 2180 Pine Rd., Newville. Officiating will be The Rev. Barbara A. Servello. Burial will be in Hays Grove Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services in the church on Wednesday
