Barbara A. Parson Hammond, 83, of Shippensburg passed away the morning of Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born Saturday, September 18, 1937 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Daisy R. (Rebok) Brenize.
Barbara worked as a seamstress for the Stanley Company and retired from the Beistle Company as a packer. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, camping, and canning.
She is survived by one son, John (Joy) Parson of Shippensburg; three daughters, Rhonda (Lee) Koch of Carlisle, Cynthia (Ray) Ocker and Shirley (Terry) Wiser, both of Shippensburg; two brothers, Galen (Linda) Brenize and Paul Brenize; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Brock, Justin, Josh, Eddie, Stephanie, and Nathan; numerous great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald E. Parson; second husband, James F. Hammond; one daughter, Sharon Kay Parson; and one brother, Clyde Brenize.
Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Pastor Bruce Levy will officiate. Barbara will be laid to rest in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Those in attendance are asked to observe the recommendations pertaining to reducing the potential spread of Covid-19; wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing as much as possible.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Abiding Memorial Trust Fund, Otterbein Church, 15620 Paxton Run Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
