Barbara Ann Bryan, 74, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, December 19, 2021, at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital.
She was born on January 6, 1947, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Herman P. and Esther E. (Hockenberry) Bechtel. Barb married James H. Bryan in 1964. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1999.
Barb was a homemaker throughout her life. Her family was always at the center of her life and she was always such a wonderful and caring spouse, mother, and grandmother. Barb loved to ride around the area to check out yard sales. She also enjoyed attending local meat raffles and country music jamborees. As an excellent homemaker, Barb really liked cooking for all of her family and friends. She also enjoyed very much watching her granddaughter Emmalee play her instruments and sing.
Barb is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Cressler and husband Ron and Christina N. Lynch and husband Jason, all of Shippensburg; one son, Rodney P. Bryan of Shippensburg; three grandchildren, Emmalee Lynch, Damon Bryan, and Levi Cressler and wife Natasha, all of Shippensburg; two great grandchildren, Sadie and Zoe Cressler of Shippensburg; four siblings, Lee Bechtel of Shippensburg, Dennis Bechtel of Horse Valley; Evelyn Millslagle Reed of Shermansdale; and Daryl Bechtel of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by one brother, Oscar Bechtel; and one son, Darren L. Bryan.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning, both at the funeral home.
