Avonne B. Van Dyke, 85, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in her home.
Born October 25, 1925 in West Milford, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Lucy Sly Rhinesmith.
She was a member of the Bethel Asembly of God Church in Carlisle. Avonne was a 1944 graduate of the Butler High School in NJ.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Van Dyke, Jr. whom she married March 27, 1947; two daughters Cathie M. Misiak and her husband Michael of Tecumseh, MI, and Faye E. Dromeshauser and her husband James of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Clifford and Russell Rhinesmith and a sister, Doris Marion.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Joshua Shaw and The Rev. Lee Rogers. A viewing will be held Friday afternoon one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 23rd in the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ at 1 p.m.
