Arthur W. “Red” Pisle, 84, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at home.
He was born August 14, 1932 in Scotland, PA. Arthur was a son of the late John W. and Sarah Catherine Perry Pisle.
He was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. Arthur retired from Valley Quarries, working there for over 36 years. He was a life member of the Hub City Club, Shippensburg, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Arthur was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing cards, going to the cabin, driving his red truck, daily trips to Valley Quarries, and socializing at McDonald’s morning and evening.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Betty L. Martin Pisle; two brothers, Elwood and Leon Pisle both of Shippensburg; two sisters, Martha Swartz of Newville and Catherine Sanders of Shippensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Prince Street United Brethren Church, Shippensburg with The Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg.
