Mrs. Arlene E. Burdge, 79, Chambersburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 31, 2011 surrounded by her children.
Born August 2, 1931 in Mifflintown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd E. and Sarah R. Miller Yorks.
Arlene was a member of the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church and worked as a seamstress at various locations. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Surviving are four sons; Glenn E. Burdge and wife Jana, Shippensburg, Franklin R. Neidigh and wife Beverly, Chambersburg, Darwin J. Burdge, and wife Jody of Shippensburg, and Kenneth R. Burdge, Evansville, IN and one daughter; Debra A. Jones, Chambersburg, one brother; Blair E. Yorks and wife Evelyn, Thompsontown, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Burdge who died July 30, 1998, nine brothers, two sisters, and son-in-law, Robert W. Jones who died in September of 2008.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011at 11:00 A.M. in the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michael K. Miller and Rev. Dr. Meagan Boozer officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the services in the Church.
