Anna M. Shannon, 81, of Lurgan, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
She was born December 25, 1936 in Lurgan, PA. Anna was a daughter of the late Robert J. and Ethel M. Cressler Fortna.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Orrstown. Anna retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. She was a 1954 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and received an Associate’s Degree from Penn State, Mount Alto.
Anna is survived by her husband, Wayne S. Shannon; one daughter Kathryn L. Spear and her husband Richard; two granddaughters, Allison N. and Rachael A. Spear, all of Cranberry Twp., PA, and one sister, Linda L. Lightfoot of Arlington, VA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael D. Shannon and one brother, Robert L. Fortna.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be Vicar Kali St.-Wyatt. Burial will be held in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
