Anna M. Diehl, 88, a resident of the Village at Luther Ridge, Chambersburg, was taken home to be with her Savior, on the evening of Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
She was born on August 25, 1933, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Stouffer) Paxton, graduated from the Chambersburg Area High School, and the Hagerstown Business College. Anna married John E. Diehl on June 16, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2010.
Anna worked for over twenty years at the Chambersburg Hospital first in admissions, and then as a secretary in the receiving department, from where she retired. She was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church for many years, and most recently a member of the Greenvillage Church of God.
She is survived by two sons, John E. Diehl, Jr., and wife Lynne of Chambersburg and Timothy R. Diehl and wife Christine of Shippensburg; her daughter, Karen S. Evans and husband Tom of Summerfield, FL; seven grandchildren, Jamie Snyder, Kristen Howson, Erin Evans, Joshua Diehl, Ellen Martin, Gretchen Horrocks, and Chase Diehl; five great grandchildren, Ilsa Diehl, Emerie Snyder, Leeland Martin, Nora Howson, Tenley Diehl, and grandson Horrocks due later this month; two sisters, Joan Wolfgang of Chambersburg, and Winnie Reed of Fayetteville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by a great grandson, Haze Martin; and two sisters, Janet Perry and Betty Highlands.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Greenvillage Church of God, Chambersburg. Pastor Matthew Tosten will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the service on Monday morning at the church.
