Amos M. McLaughlin, Jr., 76, of 3897 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in his home.
Born December 16, 1933 in Chambersburg, Franklin County; he was a son of the late Amos M., Sr. and Mary Hinkle McLaughlin.
He retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg and was an Auctioneer with Hershey’s Auctioneering in Shippensburg for over 32 years. Amos was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Orrstown Lodge # 262 Free & Accepted Masons, Valley Forest # 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Consistory, and the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and Hub City Club both in Shippensburg.
Amos was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila S. McLaughlin who died March 3, 1991, a brother, Tom McLaughlin, and two sisters, Ruth Forrester and Janet McLaughlin.
He is survived by his wife Susan Covalt McLaughlin, two daughters; Karen and Brenda both of Las Vegas, one son, Tom of Las Vegas, three sisters; Elsie Watts of Lykens, Betty Fickes of Carlisle, and Dorothy Yeager of Chambersburg.
Masonic services will be held in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral following. Officiating will be The Rev. Bonnie B. Hoffman. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hall Cemetery. There will be no viewing, however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Saturday in the funeral home.
