Ammon Reiff Zimmerman

Ammon Reiff Zimmerman, 72, of Orrstown, departed this life on the morning of Friday, January 31, 2025, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on September 22, 1952, in East Earl, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Harvey and Ella Reiff Zimmerman. Ammon married Lydia H. Weaver on December 15, 1977, in Orrstown. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2019.

Ammon worked as a self-employed farmer and was a member of the Clearfield Old Order Mennonite Church, Shippensburg.

He is survived by nine children, Etta (Eugene) Hurst, Marcus Zimmerman and Lester Zimmerman, all of Orrstown, Linda Leinbach of Shippensburg, Lewis (Laura) Zimmerman of Mount Solon, VA, LouAnn (Glenn) Garman of Hopkinsville, KY, Alson (Diane) Zimmerman of Shippensburg, Lovina Zimmerman of Orrstown, and Lamar (Ranelle) Zimmerman of Shippensburg; thirty-six grandchildren; thirteen siblings, Aaron (Mary) Zimmerman of Owen, WI, Harvey Zimmerman of Narvon, PA Norman (Vera) Zimmerman of Shippensburg, Edwin (Ellen) Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Mary (David) Shirk of East Earl, PA, John (Nancy) Zimmerman of Narvon, PA, Reuben (Marion) Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Raymond (Etta) Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, Paul (Wilma) Zimmerman of Newville, Mabel (Raymond) Zimmerman of Leola, PA, David (Virginia) Zimmerman of East Earl, PA, and Ella (Curvin) Sensenig of Penn Yan, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and spouse of forty-two years, Ammon was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Kenneth Leinbach; a granddaughter, Tori Garman; a brother, Melvin; and two sisters-in-law, Arlene and Edna Mae.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., at the Clearfield Old Order Mennonite Church (at the intersection of Shale and Clearfield Roads), Shippensburg, PA. Bishop Aaron Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Zimmerman residence, 9710 Muddy Run Road, Orrstown, PA 17244.
