Ammon Weaver

Ammon H. Weaver, 66, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in his home.

He was born July 14, 1950 in Ephrata, Lancaster County. Ammon was a son of Annie Hoover Weaver of Orrstown, and the late John D. Weaver. One brother, Raymond Weaver and grandson, Eldon Weaver are also deceased.

Ammon was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Edna Z. Oberholtzer Weaver, four sons, Lester E. (husband of Miriam) Weaver, Jason R. (husband of Wilma) Weaver, and Ammon L. (husband of Erma) Weaver all of Shippensburg, and Steven L. (Husband of Mary) Weaver of Georgetown, OH, five daughters, Wilma (wife of Landis) Weaver of Orrstown, Marian (wife of Marlin) Nolt, Norene (wife of Laverne) Sensenig, Carolyn (wife of Michael Hurst and Rose (wife of Lawrence) Weaver all of Shippensburg, six brothers, Isaac (husband of Mildred) Weaver, John Dan (husband of Stella) Weaver, Noah Weaver, Luke (husband Vera) Weaver, and Ethan Weaver all of PA, and Alvin (husband of Emma) Weaver of MO, six sisters, Anna Weaver, Lydia (wife of Ammon) Zimmerman, and Maryann (wife of Mark) Nolt all of PA, Martha (wife of Roy) Hoover of KY, Lovina (wife of Elvin) Zimmerman of TN, and Elsie (wife of Elam) Shirk of PA, 54 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church, Duncan Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with Bishop James Shirk officiating. Burial will be held in the Shippensburg Old Order Mennonite Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, December 26, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. in the family’s home, 108 Booz Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
