Ambrose Z. Leedy, 93, of Shippensburg, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at home.
Born December 1, 1918 in Roxbury, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Ambrose B. and Etta Ensminger Leedy.
Ambrose was a member of the Mainsville United Brethren Church, Shippensburg and retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot after 32 years of employment. He was a loving and hard working husband and father. Ambrose enjoyed hunting and most of all helping his family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Meda E. Varner Leedy, three sons, Lester E. Leedy and his wife Robilee of Shippensburg, Leland L. Leedy of Newburg, and Kevin L. Leedy and his wife Peggy of Camden, SC, one sister, Bertha Thompson of York, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Ambrose was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Bob Leedy, five sisters, Martha Shank, Hulda Shoap, and Myrtle, Mary, and Ruth Leedy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
Officiating will be The Rev. Donald L. Herb and The Rev. Robert L. Mentzer. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
