Almeda R. Wadel Martin Lehman, 87, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at her residence in Shippensburg, PA.
She was born September 5, 1935 to the late Laban A. and Frances R. (Hock) Wadel. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray E. Martin, and her second husband, Walter Lehman, Jr.
Almeda is survived by six children, Faye Brougher and her husband, Andy of Chambersburg, LaRay Martin and his wife Joanne of Newburg, Loren Martin and his wife Linda of Orrstown, Treva Zimmerman and her husband Tim of Shippensburg, Faron Martin and his wife Nancy of Shippensburg, and Ferlin Martin and his wife Cheryl of Shippensburg. She is also survived by three half-brothers, Clyde, Ray, and Marvin.
Almeda was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Grace (Lehman) Wadel and one half-sister, Naomi, and two half-brothers, Harold and Nathan.
Almeda is also survived by five step-children, Daniel Lehman and his wife Margaret of Greencastle, Jason Lehman and his wife Eunice of Aaronsburg, Verna Zeizet and her husband Leon of Chambersburg, Enos Lehman and his wife Janet of Chambersburg, and Alice Nolt and her husband Galen of Peach Bottom.
She is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, and preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters, and a grandson-in-law. Almeda is survived by 31 step-grandchildren and 74 step-great grandchildren. Two step-great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Almeda will be remembered by her quiet, Godly character and dedication to her family. She worked by the side of her husband dairying in Shippensburg and Path Valley, and also served the community of Andros Island, Bahamas for 17 years. Almeda was a member of Culbertson Mennonite Church, Chambersburg.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Culbertson Mennonite Church. The local ministering brethren will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Church.
