Alma R. Hock, 92, of Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sunday, April 6, 1924 in Letterkenny Twp., Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Maurice B. and Martha Sollenberger Mentzer.
Alma married Glen C. Hock January 17, 1943 whom passed away November 6, 1999.
Alma was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg. She worked alongside her husband on the family dairy farm retiring in January 1990.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her children. She loved gardening, mowing her lawn and the outdoors. Alma played and taught her children how to play the piano.
Surviving is one son, Rev. G. Delmas Hock, Elizabethville; four daughters, L. Jean (husband John) Davis, Abbottstown, Linda K. (husband Ray) Colorado Springs, CO., Brenda M. (husband Dion) Schildt, Mountville, and Debra F. (husband Charles) Heberlig, Newville; four sisters, Kathryn Frey, Marian Frey, both of Chambersburg, Lois Kipe, Waynesboro and Sara Diller, Big Fork, MT; two brothers, M. Benjamin Mentzer, Duncannon and J. Allen Mentzer, Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
In addition to her parents and daughter-in-law, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Susan Witmer, Mary Wenger, Fannie Diller and Anna Keller.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ridge Church of the Brethren with Rev. Clarence D. Stouffer and Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. and one hour prior to the service on Monday in the church.
