Allan E. Gipe, 81, of Orrstown, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Sykesville, Maryland.

Born Friday, June 25, 1943 in Waynesboro, PA, he was a son of the late Emery and Dorothy Marker Gipe.

He was a 1961 graduate of Chief Logan High School in Burnham, PA.

Allan retired from AT&T in 1990 as a Communications Technician. He was a member of the Hub City Club. He was a charter member of the Roxbury Horseshoe Pitching Club (HSPC) and a life member of the Lurgan Lion’s Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Robyn L. Cross, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., and Diana L. Lotter, Sykesville, MD; two sons, Jeffrey A. Gipe, Harrisburg, and Matthew T. (Chanda) Gipe, Chambersburg; one brother, Brian (Heather) Gipe, Lewistown, PA; two sisters, Susan (Gary) Aungst, and Cheryl (Thomas) Bearley, both of McVeytown; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters in-law, Carol Gipe, Bellville, PA and Robin Gipe, Windsor, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura A. Porter Gipe, who passed away August 16, 2003; and two brothers, Dolan Gipe and Edward Gipe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Breast Care Alliance (CVBCA) 344 Leedy Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or thecvbca.org/donate.

A private graveside service will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, at a later date.
