Alice E. Alpaugh, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Lehman House, Menno Haven, Chambersburg, PA.
Born January 23, 1934 in East Meadow, New York, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Stanch Serovetnik.
Alice was a graduate of Hempstead High School, Long Island, NY. She was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg, and was a good Christian lady that loved the Lord.
In addition to raising her family, she worked in the Accounting Department for the New York Telephone Company and retired from Lee McBeth & Sons with 24 years of service. Alice enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzle books but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Rick (wife Reggie) Alpaugh, The Villages, Florida, one daughter, Sue Alpaugh, extended family Terrie Youtz, Shippensburg, and three grandsons, Ryan Alpaugh of Florida, Mitch Alpaugh (wife Angelica) of Harrisburg and Vance Youtz (Fiancé Kaitlyn Weaver) of Shippensburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband whom she married January 30, 1954 in the Hempstead Baptist Church, Richard L. “Dick” Alpaugh, who passed away December 7, 2007; two sisters, Rose Kaluka and Josephine Shawiak; and one brother, Frank Serovetnik.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Chaplain Lori Witmer officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
