Alan Gene Leedy, 71, of Shippensburg, went to be with his Heavenly Father so peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born Thursday, November 20, 1952 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harry David and Edith Eloise Whorley Leedy.

He was a member of the Franklin Volunteer Fire Company. Alan was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. Alan loved the mountains and enjoyed taking mountain rides. 

The highlight of the year for Alan was cooking for the guys at hunting camp, and sitting on the front porch watching the deer and feeding the squirrels.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pamela Jean McNew Leedy, whom he married February 20, 1970; one daughter, Tammy Jo (Jason) Patterson, New Franklin; one son, Tony Alan Leedy, Upper Strasburg; five grandsons, Colby, Britton, Courtney, Riley, and Michael; one granddaughter, Zoey; six great grandchildren, Chase, Arianna, Haven, Layken, Remi, and Hadley Jo; one sister, Kim (Greg) Hissong, Ft. Myers, FL; one brother, Harry (Judy) Leedy, Upper Strasburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Stoey Leedy, and one sister, Kelly Izer.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grand Point Church, Chambersburg. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Point Church Youth Missions, 2230 Grand Point Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.
