Abram D. Crider, 82, of Shippensburg, passed into “Glory” on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
He was born December 20, 1932 in Shippensburg. Abram was a son of the late Charles W. and Anna M. Hock Crider.
He was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren where he had served as an Usher and Deacon. Abram retired from The Butcher Shop in Chambersburg. After retiring he enjoyed wood working, attending craft shows, and volunteering at both the Mennonite Clothing Center on Ridge Road and the Holiness Camp Grounds in Roxbury.
Abram is survived by his wife, Lowe Mae Martin Crider; five children, Lavonda (Rev. James) Parker of Marysville, Phyllis Sills of Harrisburg, Donna (Brian) Thomas of Coudersport, Rodney (Nancy) Crider, and Bryan Crider all of Shippensburg; seven sisters, Mary Jane Musser of Mechanicsburg, Anna Gettle of Dillsburg, Velva Wingert, and Cora Alleman of Chambersburg, Sarah Brubaker of Westfield, Dorothy Nickel of Newville, and Fern Grove of Michigan; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 in the Ridge Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Earl F. Stovall, and The Rev. Brian Markle. Burial in Air Hill Cemetery will follow the reception at church. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services on Monday in church.
