Dorothy N. “Dottie” Mummau, 84, of Shippensburg departed this life on the morning of Monday, November 2, 2020 at her home.

She was born Tuesday, September 15, 1936 in Strasburg, a daughter of the late Paul M. and Bertha (Landis) Neff.

Dorothy was an active member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren and also the Shippen Squares. She enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their activities and appreciated spending time with her family. Dorothy loved to travel and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Penn State Nittany Lions. She also took great pride in being able to mow her own lawn and keeping the yard looking nice. Dorothy loved being able to eat lunch, dinner, and play cards with some of her closest friends.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Jay) Beidel of Carlisle; one son, Kevin (Mary) Mummau of Carlsbad, CA; five grandchildren, Joy (Tony) Vitrano, Wendy (Brandon) Danner, Janel Beidel, Kyle Mummau, and Jason Mummau; and four great grandchildren, Rebekah Danner, Michah Danner, David Vitrano, and Kaitlyn Vitrano.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Mummau who passed away February 11, 2015. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Miriam Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. Pastor Joel F. Nogle will officiate. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, social distancing and masks are highly encouraged.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren Youth Program, 260 South Fourth Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
