Obituary

Pamela Ann Hawbaker, 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, with her sister Patricia at her bedside, June 18, 2020 at UPMC Carlisle.

Born Sunday, July 21, 1946 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Margaret E. Wiberg Maxwell, Sr.

Pamela was a 1965 graduate of the Fannett-Metal High School. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Pam retired as an Optician from the former Allegany Optical. She loved and cherished animals and loved to rescue all animals.

She is survived by her companion, Larry S. Hinkle, Carlisle; one daughter, Heather A. Hawbaker, Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons, Thaddeus and Xavier Miller, York; twin sister, Patricia L. (Ronald) McGee, Concord; four nieces, four great nieces, three great nephews, and two great-great nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dean D. Hawbaker, who passed away March 17, 1995; one brother, Charles W. Maxwell, Jr.; and one niece Stacy McGee.

A private graveside service will be held in Welsh Run Brethren Church Cemetery with the Rev. Marlin A. “Butch: Neil officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite No Kill animal shelter.

I'm not blood, but I consider Pam my aunt!! Aunt Pam was loving, kind, and fun to talk to. I have 30 years of memories of aunt pam that I will carry in my heart forever. She always opened her arms to me and gave me real hugs that showed how much she cared. She always cared about me and what was going on in my life. Aunt Pam was good at making people feel her love!! I've been blessed to be a part of the whole family and can't imagine my life without them!! Love especially to mom Mcgee!! You are truly an amazing woman and I'm here if you ever need anything!
If it wasnt for Aunt Pam, my yaya Leisa, and my little sister Heather, I never would have met my children's father. My son and daughter are here because of the ripple effect in life.
A comforting thought amidst the pain...I'm certain Stacy is happy to have her aunt by her side again!
