Jamie Lynn Salisbury, 43, of Upper Strasburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on January 23, 1976, in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Cynthia A. Matson Smith and the late Mark W. Salisbury.

Jamie worked for Weis Markets, Shippensburg, as an assistant front-end manager, for twenty-four years. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitch and crocheting. Jamie was also interested in history, but photography was her passion…..and she was really good at it. She could always be counted on to show up to show her support for the volunteers at the Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2, Shippensburg, because Jamie enjoyed the camaraderie and also because Jamie was just the kind of person who was always looking to help someone else out.

She is survived by her mother, Cynthia A. Smith of Venice, FL; her companion and caregiver, Steve Pringle of Upper Strasburg; two half-sisters, Leeann Compton of Missouri, and Hannah Salisbury of Frederick, MD; half-brother, William Salisbury of Waynesboro; step-sister, Kelli Jo Smith of Gaithersburg, MD; step-brother, Michael (Merna) Smith, Jr., of the Philippines; a niece, Cassandra M. Smith, of the Philippines; paternal grandparents, William and Vivian Salisbury of St. Louis, MO; three aunts, Ann Marie Couser of Arizona, Beth Ann Popek of Missouri, and Carleene Fortney-Pontius of Missouri; two uncles, Robert Salisbury of Gilbert, AZ, and Joe Jackson of Missouri; many cousins, and many, many friends.

In addition to her father, Jamie was preceded in death by her step-father, Michael D. Smith; and her maternal grandparents, Howard and Jessie Matson.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, February, 23, 2019, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Luke Holtry will officiate. Interment will be private, at a later date. Viewing will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Jamie’s mom Cindy is my best friend.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jamie over Christmas. Her friend Eric drove her down to see her mom.
She was blessed to do quite well on her trip to Florida. I’m happy she had that time and was able to enjoy herself.
May she rest in the arms of Our Lord for eternity!

Jamie was one of the kindest most soft spoken people I have ever met. She always remained positive and happy throughout a demanding and long drug out struggle with this terrible sickness that affects so many. I enjoyed many hours of good times and laughter with her as well as many others who will be commenting in this memory book. I will absolutely miss her. Rest easy my sweet friend ~~ Eric

She was like one of my kids called me mom. We share alot of tear and laughter together. I will greatly miss her. We share being positive out look. Plus in private we both share how hard it was to do with the health problems. Now sweetie you dont have to worry about that struggle. You can have alot of beauty and positivity. I'm going to miss you

Like a dream it seems to be in our hearts you'll always be. Yesterday you was here and now your gone. To always be pain free and no longer have to fight. You leave us broken and sad but the memories we share of you make us happy and glad , that we had a wonderful friend like you. Like a bright shining star you will always be. For you are gone now to always walk free, in our heart's you will be for we love you and miss you always , our tears flow free for you. Sad we will be but strong we are . Like a dream it will always be , but the love and laughter will always remain in our heart's as memories they stay. Be free like the star's at night for we love you always.

I have never met a person who personified both strength and sweetness the way Jamie did. She was an example to everyone around her and will be greatly missed.
