Obituary for David Scott Wagner

David Scott Wagner
David Scott Wagner, 58, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on June 19, 1960, at Camp Lejeune, NC, the son of William J. and Kathryn W. Woodburn Wagner and married Mildred “Millie” K. Moyer on June 29, 2015, at the Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church, Newville.

David worked as a pipefitter for the Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Harrisburg, for close to forty years. He was a member of the Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church and an advocate for Smart Recovery, Mechanicsburg. David enjoyed exercise; hiking the Appalachian Trail, the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails, and lifting weights. He once won a body building competition. David could also be artistic, remodeling a portion of his family’s home with wood and stone that he collected from the property.

In addition to his wife, Millie, David is survived by his son, Chance M. Wagner of Shippensburg; his parents, William J. and Kathryn W. Wagner of Newville; his sister, Susan (Palmer) Wagner-Shellenberger of Carlisle; mother-in-law, Amy Griffie of Shippensburg; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Benjamin M. Moyer; and his step father-in-law, James Griffie.

His funeral service and viewing will be private. Pastor Ralph Fisher will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smart Recovery at 7304 Mentor Avenue, Suite F, Mentor, OH 44060.
