Carol Ann Holtry, 67, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Harrisburg Hospital.

She was born on February 7, 1951, in Shippensburg, a daughter of Clyde E. and Louise P. Wadel Holtry and was a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School.

Carol was employed at Shippensburg University as a Department Secretary from 1970 until her retirement in 2007. She was a life-long member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Carol was very active within her church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher for the four and five year old class for over forty years; was a member of the bell choir; helped with nursery and the Cherub choir for many years; and went on many church mission trips. She played clarinet with the Shippensburg Town Band, was a den mother of Cub Scout Pack #121, loved to travel, and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Yankees and Jets. Carol was an animal lover and she loved to spend time with Gibbson and cared for many other four legged furry members of her family.

In addition to her parents, Carol is survived by three sisters, Jean M. (Willis) Redding of Collegeville, Kay E. (Michael) Deihl of Newville, and Gail L. Holtry of Shippensburg; two nephews, Scott (Rebecca) Redding and Brian (Jessica) Redding; two nieces, Laura Deihl and Sarah (Joshua) Faison; one great nephew, Gavin Redding; and one great niece, Audrey Redding.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Rev. Steven Livermore and Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
