Obituary for M. Richard Lauver

M. Richard Lauver, 74, of Chambersburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Village of Laurel Run.

Born Wednesday, December 16, 1942 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Marlin H. and Gladys Gable Lauver.

Richard was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newburg. He retired in 1998 from Beckton Dickinson in Cockeysville, MD as a Lab Technician.

Richard was an avid fly fisherman who tied his own flies. He enjoyed bird watching and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathryn Hoover Lauver, whom he married May 28, 1966, one brother; Michael Lauver, Lancaster, and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hopewell United Methodist Church at McKinney with Pastor Jane Keller Rosborough officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department 121 Lovers Lane, Newburg, PA 17240, SpiriTrust Lutheran Skilled Care at Luther Ridge, 2735 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202, or Hopewell United Methodist Church, 10 Enola Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
