Winifred G. Naugle, 100 years young, life-long resident of the Shippensburg area, went to be with her Lord, on the afternoon of Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the Episcopal Home.

She was born on March 3, 1918, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Margaret Abigail Myers. Winifred married Marshall C. Naugle on August 22, 1936, in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2006.

Winifred was a homemaker throughout her life, but worked at the former Burkhart’s Restaurant, as a waitress and caterer, while her husband was serving in the military during World War II.

She was a member of both the Shippensburg and Newburg First Church of God. At the Shippensburg church she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, helped with nursery and in the kitchen for church functions, events, and funeral meals. Winifred enjoyed traveling with her late husband; was good at crafts, especially crocheting and plastic canvas; liked putting together jigsaw puzzles; was an avid reader and member of several book clubs; and in her later years enjoyed word- search puzzle books.

She is survived by three daughters, Carole L. (Garnet) Heckman of Newburg, Bonita “Bonnie” I. Nye of Shippensburg, and Kimberly D. (Keith) Fry of New York; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Winifred was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.. Pastor Jim Moss will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
