Obituary for Gerald Smith

Gerald  Smith
Gerald A. Smith, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Monday, May 24, 1937 in Lewisburg, PA, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Mabel E. Kreisher Smith.
Gerald was a 1956 graduate of the Shippensburg Senior High School. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Gerald retired as a Wal-Mart Retail Manager. He was a former member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, and a member of the Hub City Social Club, both in Shippensburg.

Surviving are two sons, Paul A. Smith, Shippensburg, and Gerald Todd (companion Amy) Smith, Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Raymond L. (wife Maria) Smith, Sr., Shippensburg; one sister, Gloria Van Scyoc, Palmyra; one grandson, Sheldon Smith, Las Vegas, NV; two nieces and four nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ellen Austin Smith, who died January 5, 1998, and one son, Damon Smith.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held Monday, from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043 or the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100 Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
